Universal Design Practices Conference III_Design and Ergonomics, Florence, Italy, April 2019
The third conference of the PUDCAD project will be held in Florence, specifically to the LED laboratory of the Department of Architecture DIDA of University of Florence. The event will be dedicated to promote the project at national level with experts and teachers of design/architectural design. The main aim is to raise interest towards the Principles of Universal Design in teaching curriculum, and stimulate targeted training activities of categories (architects spread on the Tuscany region and and everywhere in the national area) directly involved with the objectives of the architectural project; the event will give also the occasion to discuss, on specific themes, together with associations of disabled persons.
Furthermore, a special section will be dedicated to deepen ergonomic aspects of procedural and regulatory nature, and design approaches applied to the case study being assessed, covering high school kids (aged 14-18 years), including subjects suffering from cerebral palsy. The interventions will address issues of accessibility, usability, quality and safety of the environment and related home accessories, with a focus on well-being and quality of interaction of the disabled person with the environment, as well as of all the people who interact with it.
